Thank God My Team SUCKED....
I've always been pretty heavily into fantasy sports. You can usually find me in any number of Yahoo and ESPN leagues. Baseball is my specialty, but I love football and basketball season too. I consider myself to be a pretty good player, but this year, I found my baseball team "The Big Ragu" in the cellar with no hope of climbing out anytime soon. Hey... we've all been there.
I became disinterested in my team because it just didn't matter anymore. I stopped looking at my stats each morning. Stopped watching Baseball Tonight for updates. It sucked. My season was over with 80 games left to be played. And I realized (and this may seem pathetic) that I was left with a sort of void in my life.
The Douchebag That Changed My Life
I started wandering around my dorm looking for this chick I'd been talking to and I passed by this douchebag's room that I could not f**king stand and noticed he was on some fantasy site doing a draft. Let me back up for a second.... I hated this kid because he was that one guy we all know in school. Drove a BMW, had all this nice shit that no college kid could possibly afford. In all honesty he was probably a decent guy, I just resented him throwing his money around. Probably money his parents gave him. Anyway, for some reason, I forgot all of that and poked my head in and asked what league he was in and why he was drafting now in the middle of the season. He explained to me it wasn't a league per se, but a nightly draft. He went on to explain to me that there was this new fantasy site called DraftStreet.com and they offered NIGHTLY drafts where you get to draft a new team every night. I thought... cool, but why would I want a new team every night, and how do I win?
He went on to explain that you're actually playing a mini league every night (or week if you'd like) and at the end of each night, a winner is chosen. I asked what fun that was. That's when he pulled out a stack of hundreds that would put most drug dealers to shame. Here's the conversation that followed...
Kid I thought was a DB: Well, let me tell you... It's pretty damn fun because you're ALWAYS in the game. You always have that adrenaline flowing every night from watching how your team is doing. You think I care about the Kansas City Royals? Hell no. But when I have Grienke pitching and I'm in a 10 team league with $100 on the line, I get interested real quick.
ME: Wait, you're gambling?
Kid that is probably a DB still: Nah, it's perfectly legal. It's just nightly leagues for cash prizes. You pick a team each night based on player salaries and a salary cap and you can enter as many leagues as you want. If you win the league, you win the prize pool.
ME: But you have to have like $10,000 there... how could you make that much?
Kid That Seems Kinda Cool Now: It's more like $15k, but yeah, I can enter as many leagues as I want each night. DraftStreet.com has literally hundreds of active leagues going on with all kinds of different numbers of teams and entry fees. One of the leagues I'm in tonight has 10 teams in it and the entry fee is $10. If I win the league, I get $90. Pretty simple. And the scoring system is very similar to normal year long leagues, so it was an easy transition.
ME: Interesting... And you can play in as many leagues as you want each night with as many different lineups as you want?
My New Best Friend: You got it. They have leagues for 2-100 teams with entry fees anywhere from FREE to $100.
My Journey To Making $5k a Month
Armed with this new information, I went and created an account on DraftStreet.com and started playing some of the FREE games that night. I actually kind of enjoyed just playing the FREE games. I had something to follow every night, and I really enjoy trying to pick the best team. For me, that was half the fun of it. But, what I didn't realize is that I was honing my skills to move into the cash leagues. I started slow in the $5 leagues. My success carried over, and before I knew it, I was playing 5, 10 sometimes 20 leagues a night. I didn't win every league I entered obviously, but I won more than 25% of them which was way above the 10% you need to win for a profit. And with each league I won, I watched my account grow. I was averaging over $125 a night in cash!!! This was more addicting than online poker.... and more profitable.

Wait... I Suck At Fantasy Sports Though...
My roommate (who isn't the brightest bulb) started playing too, and although he hasn't had as much success as me at winning leagues, he's actaully making like 2-3k a month from this recruiting program they have. You just signup for FREE and send your recruiting link that DraftStreet.com provides to all of your friends. Then, you earn money every time they enter a league. And it lasts forever. He just used the tools they provide on the site to send his entire Facebook friends list his recruiting link and was making over $50 a day just off of that! And he only has like 250 friends. He has around 100 friends total playing under his recruiting code so he's making a killing doing absolutely nothing. He never even have to deposit money into his account and he's making as much as me. It kind of pisses me off actually. It's crazy. I'm concentrating more on playing, because it's also a great time filler and adrenaline boost, but I'm also making an extra $1,500 a month in recruiting money.
Check it out. He let me post some of his recruiting checks.
What My Life Is Like Now
Pretty great actually. I kind of treat playing on DraftStreet.com as my part time job. Only I make WAY more than any part-time (and most full-time) job could pay me. And when I say "job" I use that term loosely. I look forward to picking my teams each night and following my players on TV or the Internet. Each night, I have something new to look forward to. Suddenly, every game becomes interesting. One night, my league came down to a final at bat with Chris Carpenter pitching to Ryan Howard. I had Howard and the guy in front of me in that league had Carpenter. I knew if Howard got a hit, I'd win the league which was worth $500. The adrenaline I had during that at bat is the main reason I play!!! Well... and the money. Howard doubled down the right field line, my bank account got $500 heavier.
Want To Get In The Game?
I'm not saying you're gonna become a millionaire doing this, but if your interested in playing, even if it's just for fun (there are plenty of FREE games on DraftStreet.com) I highly suggest you check it out. You can signup and be drafting your team for tonight within 5 minutes. Here's exactly how I was able to turn my fantasy sports habit into income of $5,000 per month.
This is how I make the majority of my money. Some will be more successful than others, but I love the jolt I get from watching the games now, and you really can make a ton of money. I know some guys making 3 times as much as me.
UPDATE: They're giving away a FREE 25% bonus on your initial deposit. So if you deposit $100, they give you a FREE $25. Pretty sweet deal.

Step 2: Grab a recruiting link for your new account and invite your friends to play.
They have some nice buit-in tools on the site that allow you to send your entire Facebook friends list your link. There are dozens of ways to recruit friends to play under you. With social networking sites these days, it's pretty easy to get dozens of people playing under you with the click of a mouse. It almost isn't fair.
